Prt. Frederick Fletcher (real name Fritz Fleischer) an Austrian Jew, formerly of the Royal Scottish Regiment and the 1st Bn. Worcestershire Regiment, served with the Intelligence Section of No.6 Commando on attachment from No.3 (German) Troop (otherwise known as X Troop) of No. 10 Commando. 

Prt. Fritz Fleischer was Killed In Action (KIA) outside Le Plain (Calvados, Normandy, France) on 11th June 1944.

Frederick was the son of Rudolf and Hedwig Fleischer, of Cricklewood, Middlesex. He is laid to rest in Ranville War Cemetry (Calvados, France). Grave IVA.M.12.

The inscription on his headstone reads:

‘Always in our thoughts’.
